01Download extensionGet the current ZIP package and prepare its permanent folder.

  1. Select the download button above.
  2. Wait for the ZIP to finish downloading.
  3. Extract the package.
02How to add extensionLoad the extracted folder into Chrome using Developer mode.
  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Open the Extensions page.

    Search on address bar: chrome://extensions

  3. Enable Developer mode.

    Turn on the Developer mode in the upper-right corner. Three buttons, including Load unpacked, will appear.

  4. Select Load unpacked.

    Select Load unpacked and then select the extracted folder not the ZIP one.

  5. Confirm successful installation.

    A card named KTools Scribd PDF Exporter with version 1.0.1 should appear and its enable switch should be on.

  6. Resolve any folder error.

    “Manifest file is missing or unreadable” means you selected the ZIP, the parent directory or an incomplete extraction. Select the correct extracted folder again.

Optional: You do not need to pin the extension. KTools creates its floating control directly on supported Scribd pages.
03How to useOpen the scroll reader first, then configure and create the PDF.
  1. Sign in to Scribd normally.
  2. Open the document page.
  3. Select Go Download.
  4. Open the PDF options.

    Inside the embed reader, hover over or select the floating PDF button. The export panel now appears.

  5. Choose the file name.

    Enter the desired name. KTools adds .pdf when needed and sanitizes characters that cannot be used in a local file name.

  6. Choose resolution and JPEG quality.

    Higher values improve fine text and diagrams but increase memory use, processing time and final file size. Balanced settings are suitable for most documents.

  7. Start the scan.

    Select Scan accessible pages & create PDF. KTools scrolls through the reader to discover pages that are actually rendered for your current access.

  8. Keep the reader tab open.

    Do not close, reload or navigate away while the status says Loading, Capturing or Building PDF. The progress bar shows the current stage.
