  3. Extract the package.
02How to add extensionLoad the extracted folder into Chrome using Developer mode.
  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Open the Extensions page.

    Search on address bar: chrome://extensions

  3. Enable Developer mode.

Turn on the Developer mode in the upper-right corner. Three buttons, including Load unpacked, will appear.

  4. Select Load unpacked.

Select Load unpacked and then select the extracted folder not the ZIP one.

  5. Confirm the extension card.

The page should show KTools Drive PDF Exporter, version 1.4.1, with its switch enabled.

  6. Check for installation errors.

If the card shows an Errors button, open it. A “manifest file is missing” message means the wrong folder level was selected.

Tips: Pinning the toolbar icon is not required. The floating PDF control is injected directly into supported Google Drive viewer pages.
03How to useOpen an authorized Drive document and configure the PDF export.
  1. Open the file in the Drive viewer.

Double-click the document so it opens in the full viewer at drive.google.com. Wait until the first page is visible.

  2. Find the floating PDF button.

The KTools control appears on the right side of the viewer. If it is missing, reload the tab once and confirm the extension is enabled.

  3. Open the export panel.

Select or hover over the PDF control. The panel shows the file name, maximum page resolution, JPEG quality, estimated size and export status.

  4. Choose a resolution.

Use a higher resolution for small text or printing. Use a lower resolution when file size matters more. Higher resolution requires more memory and processing time.

  5. Choose JPEG quality.

High quality preserves diagrams and text edges but creates a larger PDF. Balanced quality is suitable for most lecture notes and slides.

  6. Set the output name.

Enter a clear file name. The extension adds .pdf automatically if it is missing and removes characters that Windows cannot use in file names.

  7. Start the export.

Select Download complete PDF. Keep the Drive viewer tab open while KTools reads the available pages and assembles the file locally.

  8. Watch the progress.

The panel reports the page currently being processed and updates the progress bar. You may switch to another tab, but do not close or reload the Drive tab.

  9. Verify the result.

When complete, Chrome downloads one image-based PDF. Open it and check the first page, last page, order and page count before closing the original document.

Important:Generated PDFs contain page images and do not include an OCR text layer.
